Privacy policy

Type With Me ("we") is run by [name or company], [country]. Contact: [email].
What we collect
- Guest players. A random id and a generated name (like
angryoctopus321), stored in a cookie on your device, plus the results of the songs you play: score, accuracy, typing speed and line timings. - Signed-in players. When you sign in with Google we receive your Google account id, email and name. We use the email only to identify your account; your public name is the one you pick.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, time) for security, for up to [30] days.
We don't show ads, don't sell data and don't build advertising profiles.
Third parties your browser talks to
- YouTube plays the clips. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode; once a video starts, YouTube may store its own data under Google's privacy policy. If you choose "Necessary only", the player loads only when you click to play.
- LRCLIB (lrclib.net) provides synced lyrics. Your browser fetches them directly, so LRCLIB sees your IP address.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks, invisibly, that a new guest is a person and not a bot, before we create the guest. Cloudflare processes data from your browser for this check as described in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
- Processors that store data for us: [Vercel] (hosting), [Supabase] (database and sign-in), Google (sign-in).
Why we use it
- To run the game, keep your scores and show leaderboards (needed to provide the service).
- To prevent cheating, bots and abuse (our legitimate interest in fair leaderboards).
- YouTube playback beyond the essentials only with your consent.

How long we keep it
- Guest data: deleted after [12] months without a game.
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Leaderboards show your public name and scores while your data exists.
Your rights
You can see your history in your profile, and delete your account from the profile (Account → Delete account); this erases your runs and removes you from all leaderboards. Guests can use "Forget me" in cookie settings. For a copy of your data or any other request, email [email]. If you're in the EU/UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The service isn't meant for children under [13] ([16] in the EU unless a parent consents).
Changes
We'll update the date above and, for significant changes, show a notice in the app.
